CulturEuro Seminars

  • Interested in EU funding (but not sure where to start) ?
  • Want to make more European (& international) connections ?

The autumn round of CulturEuro seminars offers detailed but easy-to-understand information on a range of EU funding schemes and programmes, and information on how to take advantage of the new Connexus services to help you connect internationally, find partners, and access other contacts, information and resources. This will include current and future EU opportunities to develop projects with Australia and Canada.

Each seminar will cover:

  • Background to the EU – knowing how it works and what’s in it for you
  • Detailed information on the full range of EU funding programmes, including the Culture programme, the latest programmes for education, training and young people, the citizens, environment, and research & development programmes, plus the current Structural Funds, and possible new opportunities for rural areas resulting from changes to the Common Agricultural Policy budgets.
  • A reminder of non-EU opportunities, including European trusts & foundations
  • Important guidance for applying to the EU programmes and tips for developing an application
  • Ways in which you can take advantage of the new international Connexus services – see below

Previous delegates have said:

  • ‘This course de-mystified the process and language of EU and opened up new funding possibilities!’
  • “Thank you for making a lot of information digestible in a lively way”
  • “An excellent overview/introduction to European funding maze”

The EU’s Culture programme (2007-2013) has a budget of €400 million to encourage mobility and to celebrate Europe’s cultural diversity, and there are many other EU programmes which offer grants for arts and cultural projects or exchanges and visits. These seminars, specifically designed for cultural organisations, will give you the tools to make a successful bid for European funding. Statistics from the European Commission indicate that, in the last few years, UK applications to the Culture programme had a 60-75% success rate - one of the highest success rates of any country in Europe.   Your project could be one of the next success stories!

The Connexus membership scheme offers a range of online tools to help you connect internationally – all members have an online profile, to which you can add “Connexions” – including searches for partners, as well as news, events, jobs, resources or research. You can then search across other members, and communicate directly with them. Though Connexus was launched just 6 months ago, there are already over 1000 members from 20 countries and this is expected to grow over the next 6 months.  There are now over 500 profiles from Australian and Canadian organisations looking for partners for a 2013 deadline for the EU Culture programme.

All seminars start at 1.30pm, and end at 4.30pm, with registration and tea & coffee from 1.00pm.

The standard cost for the new 2012 seminars is £80. However, Connexus members get a £30 discount, making it £50. It is just £16 to sign up for Connexus membership and this can be done at www.culture.info. Once you have signed up, you will be emailed a discount code to enable you to book for a CulturEuro seminar at the discount price.

Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
